Visa Guidelines
The information on this page is provided as general guidance for securing a visa to travel to India to attend AHAD-AP 2024 in Bengaluru. The information provided cannot be constituted as legal advice. While the organizers make every effort to keep the information up to date, we cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy or validity of the information.
General & Information
Visitors entering India must possess a passport valid for at least 6 months after their date of entry into India. There should be at least two blank pages in the passport. An entry visa is essential for all those visiting India. There are several types of visas, including Conference, Tourist and Business Visas. Those traveling specifically for AHAD-AP 2024 are required to apply for a Conference Visa.
Mandatory requirements to get a Conference Visa
As per the mandate of the Indian Authority, all participants who are non-Indian nationals will need to share their passport details with AHAD-AP 2024 team, so they can apply for necessary permissions from the concerned ministries.
Visa Applicants from (1) Afghanistan, (2) Iraq, (3) Pakistan (4) Sudan (5) Foreigners of Pakistani Origin and (6) Stateless persons will need a special political clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs (Government of India).
Steps to follow after you receive the invitation letter from AHAD-AP / IAHAD:
- Indian Embassies, Consulates and High Commissions in respective countries issue the visa for India.
- Travellers from 172 countries can apply online for an e-Visa through the Indian Government website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
- Please note that this website is operated by the Government of India and not by the AHAD-AP 2024 organisers.
- You may want to consult your local travel agent for more details and clarity.
Here are some tips on using that website:
- Make a note of your temporary reference number.
- If the website gives error messages or freezes, you can try later using your temporary reference number to retrieve your partially filled form.
- A visa application form will be generated with the High Commission Logo at the top. Print 2 copies (and another one for yourself) and sign. Save the document in case you need to reprint.
- Get your Supporting Documents. The supporting documents required for a visa application are:
- Two passport-size photographs
- Letter of identification from your institution or employer
- Confirmed onward & return tickets (if applicable)
- Letter of Invitation from the conference organisers (will be provided by AHAD-AP 2024 organizers).
- Letters of permission from Indian Government Ministries for holding the conference (will be provided by AHAD-AP 2024 organizers). These letters will include:
- Clearance letter from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, which is the nodal ministry for the conference.
- Clearance letter from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, which is needed for all non-Indian nationals to travel to the conference.
- Please note that an approval letter from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India is only required for Visa Applicants from (1) Afghanistan, (2) Iraq, (3) Pakistan (4) Sudan (5) Foreigners of Pakistani Origin and (6) Stateless persons. If your visa application has a mandatory field for it, please submit this circular from the MHA (that explains the conditions in which MHA approval is needed) along with your application
Important Note:
Please note that the AHAD-AP 2024 organising team is not authorized to assist or have any control over the VISA process beyond providing an Invitation Letter, that too post completion of the online registration process. Should your application be denied, the AHAD-AP 2024 team cannot change the decision of the Government Ministries, nor will any member from the committee be able to engage in discussion or correspondence with the visa issuing authorities on behalf of the applicant.
The registration fee cannot be refunded for the reason of VISA being denied – cancellation policy mentioned on the website will be followed. We request you to please register and apply for VISA as early as you can to make sure you have enough time to plan your trip.
The invitation letter with the passport details will be shared within 24-48 hours.

Please note that all travelers, except for those exempt from visa requirement, should apply for the corresponding visa at the local Thai Diplomatic or Consular Offices before their arrival. People in possession of a valid residence permit or a valid long-term visa should check the validity of their visa in order to avoid any inconvenience.
If an entry visa is required, please allow sufficient time for this procedure:
Submit your visa application in person, at least three months before you plan to travel to Thailand in order to avoid any inconvenience. The process may take longer in certain countries, so we recommend that you contact the nearest Thai Diplomatic or Consular Offices to determine your personal case. Who Can Enter Thailand Without a Visa
The Visa Exemption rule allows tourists from 64 countries to enter Thailand without applying for a visa. Travelers can visit Thailand for up to 30 days if they are entering Thailand through an international airport or land border checkpoint from a neighboring country.
Provisions of the VISA EXEMPTION RULE and BILATERAL AGREEMENT, effective December 31, 2016, allowing passport holders from 64 countries to enter Thailand under this rule provided they meet the following criteria:
- Be from an approved country.
- Be visiting Thailand strictly for tourism.
- Hold a genuine passport with a valid expiry of over 6 months.
- Can provide a valid address in Thailand on entry that can be verified. This address can be a hotel or an apartment.
- Must have a confirmed return ticket exiting Thailand within 30 days. Open tickets do not qualify. Traveling overland by train, bus, etc to Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia (including en route to Singapore), Myanmar, etc is not accepted as proof of exiting Thailand.**
- Provide proof of funds of at least 10,000 THB for single travelers, or 20,000 THB per family during your stay in Thailand.
** You may be asked to show your flight ticket on entering Thailand. If you do not possess a flight ticket to show that you will exit Thailand within 30 days of entry, you will most likely be refused entry.
If entering Thailand by land or sea, eligible travelers holding normal passports will be granted visa-free travel to Thailand twice per calendar year. There is no limitation when entering by air.
For Malaysians entering by land border, there is no limitation in issuing the 30-day visa exemption stamp.
Travelers from Korea, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and Chile will receive permission to stay in Thailand for up to 90 days under Visa Exemption. This applies to both airport and land border entries.
People who are not eligible to enter Thailand under the Visa Exemption rule or Visa on Arrival scheme are required to get a visa through a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate prior to their visit.
