ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Call for Abstract

Delegates who would like to present their work at the meeting, are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the Abstract Review Committee.These abstracts will be reviewed and selected for oral and poster presentations.

Abstract submissions are open only for HCPs working or involved with haemophilia care in the Asia Pacific region.

Important Dates for Abstract Submissions

Last date for abstract submission: 30th July 2024
Notification of acceptance of abstracts for oral/ poster presentations: 22nd August 2024
Last date for withdrawal of abstracts: 22nd August 2024
Please carefully read the following guidelines prior to submitting the abstract/s.

General Guidelines

  1. You are invited to submit informative abstracts of up to 300 wordswhich would not include the title of the abstract and author affiliations and other headings like Aims, Methods, Results & Conclusions. The abstract may include a maximum of one Tables/Graphs in jpg format (image).
  2. All abstracts are subject to review by the Abstract Review Committee and acceptance into the program is not guaranteed.
  3. The Abstract Review Committee will review each abstract and select abstracts for oral orposter presentation during the meeting.
  4. Abstracts must be submitted online. No abstracts will be accepted through any other mode (email, hard copy, etc.).

Abstracts must be submitted according to guidelines given below:

Abstract Title

Please write the title in Sentence Case. Do not use quotation marks.

(Example: The results of the research study on ALL in Indonesia.)

Authors and Affiliations

Corresponding/ Submitting Author: The person submitting the abstract (who’s email ID is used to create the profile) will be the single person to whom all correspondence/ communication will be sent.

Presenting Author: Details should be entered in the provided fields (even if the corresponding author is the same).

Co-authors: The system will give an option to fill details of up to 10 co-authors (full name & institute/ affiliation). In case you want to add more, please write to the conference secretariat for assistance.

Abstract Text

The Committee suggests that the abstract follow the format outlined below.

  • Aims
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Key words

Case Reports/Case Series are also encouraged and the following headings can be considered for entering the content.

  • Introduction (for Aims)
  • Details of the case/ cases (for Methods)
  • Discussion (for Results)
  • Conclusion (for Conclusion)

Conflict of Interest Statement

If the research described in the abstract was supported by a commercial company, you must indicate the company's role in analysing the data or preparing the abstract.

One of the following must appear at the bottom of the abstract:

"No conflict of interest to disclose".

"This research was supported by __________. The company had no role in analysing the data or preparing the abstract."

"This research was supported by __________. The company inserts free text describing the company's role in data analysis or abstract preparation."


This conflict-of-interest statement is mandatory for all abstracts submitted and will appear wherever the abstracts are published. For oral presentations, a sample slide will be available to presenters for disclosure of conflicts of interest to be displayed as the first or second slide of their presentation.

Available topics are:

Haemophilia and Bleeding disorders. The submitters can select the right topic for each abstract submitted

  • Medical
  • Laboratory
  • Musculoskeletal
  • Comprehensive Care: Nursing, Dental, Psychosocial

Submission of the abstract carries with it an obligation to present the accepted abstract in-person without any change in scientific content during the allotted time in the above conference.

Withdrawal of presentation should be intimated to the Abstract Review Committee on or before August 15, 2024.

Important Note:

  1. If the abstract is not submitted in the prescribed format, it will not be considered for review.
  2. The final decision of the abstract committee will be binding.
  3. More than 1 abstract can be submitted by any individual/ author.
  4. If an author as the presenting author is not able to present the poster for the conference due to any reason, prior permission must be obtained from the Program Committee regarding the change in the presenting author.
Every abstract received will be reviewed on the below parameters.

Criteria Description
1. Significance of the topic Abstract has significant implications in the field ofhaemophilia. New therapies, improving clinical practice, or enhancing patient care.
2. Clarity of objectives Abstract clearly states PICOTS.
3. Methodological rigor & Scientific quality Study conducted with a clear question, appropriate design, sample size, statistical power, blinding, results and conclusions
4. Originality Abstract presents original research that advances knowledge in haemophilia.
5. Relevance Abstract is relevant to conference theme and interests of attendees.

Support for Abstract Presenters

The following ADDITIONAL Support (for Presenting Author only) is available for the top 100 abstracts selected either for the Oral Presentation or Poster Display during the Annual Meeting
Abstracts from AP country/region/territory (Applicable for AHAD-AP members only) Abstracts from India
AHAD-AP will provide an additional amount of USD 100, which will be added to the final travel and accommodation reimbursement (if any). IAHAD will provide Travel and accommodation support.
