The Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders-Asia Pacific along with Christian Medical College Vellore, India is delighted to welcome you to the virtual hands-on Workshop on Basic Coagulation Laboratory for Diagnosis of Bleeding Disorders. At this time when many continue to fight the COVID 19 pandemic, we have chosen to have a virtual workshop.
A basic level coagulation laboratory in a healthcare setup that looks after patients with increased bleeding tendency should be able to identify the causes of bleeding with the help of screening tests, mixing studies, inhibitor screening and if possible the severity of abnormality by factor assays.
Objectives of the workshop
- Understanding the physiology of coagulation and the principle of basic coagulation tests used for the diagnosis of bleeding disorders.
- Utilising the knowledge and skills to perform and interpret the basic coagulation tests in the diagnostic workup of patients with bleeding disorder
